NAZIMAH ABDULLAH 

Head of Education

Nazimah Abdullah is an educator, school leader and author with more than 30 years of experience across classroom teaching, curriculum development, school operations and senior leadership within Singapore’s education system. 

  • More than 30 years in Singapore education — extensive experience in teaching, curriculum planning, school management, policy implementation and senior leadership. 

  • Senior school leadership — served as Vice Principal across several Singapore schools including Yu Neng Primary School, Sengkang Secondary School, Bedok View Secondary School and Punggol Secondary School. 

  • Ministry of Education experience — worked at MOE Headquarters as Special Assistant to the Deputy Director, School Division and as a Curriculum Planning Officer in the English Language and Literature Branch. 

  • Curriculum and educational development — specialist experience in instructional strategies, academic programmes, educational policy and inclusive practice for diverse student communities. 

  • Author, trainer and educational consultant — currently works across educational publishing, adult training, tutoring and children’s educational content, including as co-author of a children’s heritage series supported by the National Heritage Board. 

  • National recognition — recipient of the Commendation Medal, Efficiency Medal and COVID19 Resilience Award for public service and contribution.

For The Waterhole, Nazimah leads the development of the educational dimension of the project, helping translate its themes of nature, sustainability and conservation into meaningful learning experiences for schools, children and families.
